Right when I’m getting ready to post about the next guitar I’ll add to my wishlist, I stumble across a devastating story involving a break-in at John 5’s house. I can only imagine the emotion involved when someone steals quality, high-end equipment like John 5 has. Me, I’d be over the moon if I owned his very affordable John 5 Squier Telecaster signature model. I hope to get it one day. I hope John 5 gets his stolen higher quality gear back before that.
There is so much to love with the John 5 Telecaster. For me, the Telecaster is a thing of beauty for starters. The fact that John 5’s model is a double humbucker model with a Les Paul style (and location) pickup switch is even cooler. But let’s get to the specifics … The guts of this awesome guitar if you will.
List!
- Double bound body
- Stainless steel pickguard
- Chrome hardware
- Dual volume controls
- Alder body, maple neck and a rosewood fretboard
Of course an added bonus is the all-black paint job. I’m a huge fan of the black Telecaster headstock in particular.
The biggest selling point for me though is the price. As a Fender Squier, you can pick these up for well under $1000. That is a bargain. As someone who owns a Fender Squier already, I have to say this guitar looks to be a dream guitar too good to not have.
Disclaimer: I’ve not played this guitar. I have not experienced the sound or feel of this guitar. That doesn’t matter. It looks awesome, it’s obviously played by winners and I want one.
