Another 52 Guitars, week 14—Fender Jim Root Jazzmaster v4

The first time I did this 52 guitars thing, I had a Telecaster in the list that was a Jim Root signature model. Later on when I did the 52 amplifiers series, I had a Jim Root signature model amplifier. Now I’m not the world’s great Slipknot or Stone Sour fan, but I will say this … Jim Root knows good gear.

Jim Root’s new Fender Jazzmaster v4 is no exception. Matter of a fact, I think it’s his best signature model yet. This guitar looks amazing.

Five signature guitars I wish I owned

I’ve been bitten by the blogging bug lately and this has caused me to investigate all-things guitar once again. I’m very OK with that. Who doesn’t love spending hours surfing the Interwebs looking at guitars? I’m sure that doesn’t appeal to some folks—I like to call those people boring. What is hopefully not boring though is this list of the five signature guitars I wish I owned.

Now to watch the next lotto draw and hope for the best. Or dream. I’m happy to continue dreaming. Five signature guitars I wish I owned

Fender Squire Telecaster SSH White

I realised recently that I hadn’t written about anything I actually own in a while. Not that I write a lot about anything, but the majority of articles are always “Oooh, this would be nice!” Actually, most of my articles will always be like that because there’s always going to be more that I like than I own. In a way, this article will become that kind of article as well. Why? Well I have a Fender Squire Telecaster SSH (white), but I’m considering modifying it slightly. Let me explain how and why. 52 Amplifier Heads, week 15—Fender Super Champ X2

This week I thought I’d write about one of the amplifier heads that I know very little of, from one of the companies I know the most about. Confused? Welcome to my world. The Fender Super Champ X2 head is 15 watt tube amplifier head that offers something most other amplifier heads in this article series don’t (or can’t)—voicing. What is voicing? One thing is for sure, it’s got less to do with vocals than you may think.

If you’ve never read anything from my website before, please don’t take too much of what I say seriously. You’ll quickly become uninformed. 52 Amplifier Heads, week 15—Fender Super Champ X2

52 Guitars, week 47—Fender Jim Root Telecaster

This week’s guitar falls into the category of I don’t own this model, but I own a guitar from this brand. Fender may be primarily known for their Stratocasters and Telecasters, but what a range those two powerhouses have. At the time of writing this article, the Fender website has 144 Stratocasters and 106 Telecasters. Given unlimited funds I’d probably want at least half of them. At least. 52 Guitars, week 47—Fender Jim Root Telecaster

The Rock Prodigy team who brought us the awesome iOS apps Rock Prodigy, The Offspring: Rock Prodigy and Dave Mustaine: Rock Prodigy, have now released Rock Prodigy for Windows. The new system includes lessons from guitar teachers professionally trained at Musicians Institute. The lessons themselves are broken up into four courses which can be purchased individually or in one of two packages.

Right now though, you can get up to 70% off thanks to the kind folks at Fender. If that’s not enough, you can also enter a draw to win a Fender DG-8S Acoustic Pack. Rock Prodigy released for Windows (plus a Fender giveaway)

52 Guitars, week 13—Squier J5 Telecaster

Right when I’m getting ready to post about the next guitar I’ll add to my wishlist, I stumble across a devastating story involving a break-in at John 5’s house. I can only imagine the emotion involved when someone steals quality, high-end equipment like John 5 has. Me, I’d be over the moon if I owned his very affordable John 5 Squier Telecaster signature model. I hope to get it one day. I hope John 5 gets his stolen higher quality gear back before that. 52 Guitars, week 13—Squier J5 Telecaster
