This week I added a new poll to the website. So I thought I’d make this week’s guitar Polish. Actually I didn’t put that much thought into it (plus I realise the spelling would differ if I was to try and make them relate). Regardless, the article for week 32 has begun!
Mayones has been creating guitars and basses in Poland since 1982. In these modern times they have some impressive artists on their roster and on top of that, they make the Legend 22 Katatonia. This is one beautiful looking black and white guitar.
According to the Mayones website, the “Mayones Legend 22 Katatonia is the result of long term cooperation with Anders ‘Blakkheim’ Nyström, leader of the Swedish ‘Katatonia’.” I don’t know as much about Anders ‘Blakkheim’ Nyström as I should, but I can say he has an awesome guitar. Let’s check out the specs:
- 22 medium jumbo frets
- Schaller M6 locking tuners
- Hipshot 6 string fixed bridge
- Seymour Duncan P Rails (bridge)
- Seymour Duncan Cool Rails™ for Strat SCR-1n (neck)
- Fernandes Sustainer System
- Master volume and master tone
- 5-way lever pickup selector
- 2 mini-switches for sustainer control
- GraphTech nut
How technically advanced does that sound?! Very. The answer is very!
This is such a beautiful looking guitar. I love the unique body shape and the perfect combination of two-tone black and white. I’ve mentioned it in previous articles as well, but I am a big fan of a good looking guitar headstock shape. This guitar has that too.
I also referenced earlier that Mayones guitars has an impressive artist roster. I mention that again because Wes Borland has three Mayone guitars. I’me off to check them all out now.
Disclaimer: I’ve not played this guitar. I have not experienced the sound or feel of this guitar. That doesn’t matter. It looks awesome, it’s obviously played by winners and I want one.
