If you’ve ever taken a look around this website you would have noticed a lack of colour. It’s something I decided to do a few years ago because the majority of my guitars are black and/or white. It’s how I like things. So imagine my delight when I discovered the new PolyTune 2 Mini (and PolyTune 2 Noir). They’re black and white and tiny enough to fit into the corner of my packed pedalboard. Handy!
The PolyTune 2 pedal tuner units both feature incredibly bright LEDs to assist you with your guitar tuning no matter the environment you’re in. In fact they somehow packed 109 LEDs into these tiny pedals. Amazing.
Not only can you tune in almost all environments, you can tune your guitar/s in multiple ways. There’s the standard chromatic tuning style (one string at a time) but there’s also the Polytune system (that allows you to tune all six strings at once) and the new Strobe style with +/- 0.1 cent accuracy. Who doesn’t love options and accuracy? Not me. I like them both. So having that all in one tiny unit is very handy.
Check out the video on the official PolyTune 2 Mini (or PolyTune 2 Noir) website for all the awesome details. If the pedal impresses Scott Ian from Anthrax, then it impresses me. I might have to pick one of the Noir units up from Guitar Center, Musicians Friend or Long & McQuade in North America (because I believe that’s the only way you’ll get one). Now to get myself to North America!
