I’ll start this fortnight’s entry by saying I am truly grateful to work with some genuinely lovely people. Every now and then I’m asked how my fortnightly playlists are going and today was one of those days. Luckily, today’s query resulted in me being able to add enough new music to my list to almost double what would have otherwise been another small entry.

I’ll be honest. I wasn’t surprised that this fortnight’s playlist was easier to put together than the previous fortnight‘s efforts. It’s the letter F after all. This blog post could have almost marketed itself. F‘ing awesome … F Yeah … I could go on forever. Let’s not though.

I knew it would happen at least once in this challenge. A significantly shorter list than I’d have preferred to post. I went through my existing music collection—digital and physical—and still came up short. Maybe there just aren’t that many heavy bands that start with the letter E. That’s an opportunity for someone.

I have so many things to cover in this post. They’re all trivial and will not take long at all. So let’s not beat around the bush and get straight into it. Also, I am going to resist the urge to make any reference to the fact that I’m told a lot of people like the D (list).

This fortnight sees me ending what could be called the ABCs of metal and hard rock. If that was my goal, my blog series would be over. But it’s not my goal, so it’s not over. This is just the third entry into my alphabet playlist of music. This, is the C playlist.

I’m a little bit late with this one. But for a good reason—some of my work colleagues have become interested in contributing band and artist names to my alphabet playlist of metal. To be fair, some of them are having trouble understanding the term metal, but I’m working on that.

Last year, I challenged myself to a monthly video blog post that focused on a new guitar riff that I created in that month. It was a lot more effort than I realised—writing, recording and replicating for video takes time. But it was a challenge that I’m going to say I completed successfully.

2019 needs a new challenge. It needs to be something different and I am looking for a challenge of a different type. Luckily, I worked out that there are 26 letters in the alphabet and 26 fortnights in a year. So the challenge begins.
