Have you ever had one of those weeks when nothing seems to go right? I know I have. And as I select the pedals I’m drawn to, I’d like to think the pedals I’m interested in share some of my own traits. Why would they also not feel the need to get a bit of help from time to time? Everyone needs a boost right? Yes. Yes they do. That’s why I’ve selected the JHS Pedals Mini Bomb Boost this week. It’s the little helper pedal we all need.
Thank you considerate pedal.
Now if you’re thinking a booster pedal goes under other pedals so they’re easier to reach, then you’re misunderstanding what a booster pedal does. No, a booster pedal enhances the pedals it goes before or after. It doesn’t matter where you are. The booster pedal is ambidextrous. But the boosting differs depending on where you sit in relation to the booster pedal.
If you’re a guitar pedal that sits before the Mini Bomb Boost in a pedal chain then you’re about to get LOUDER. Your tone will remain the same, you’ll just make it easier for your audience to hear you. If you sit after the booster in the pedal chain however, then you’re about to get enhanced. It’s not just volume, it’s improvement. This is especially true for overdrive and/or distortion pedals. Imagine that. An overdrive pedal pushing your amplifier with a booster pushing your overdrive pedal. I’m in heaven just thinking about it!
But you need not just think about it. You can also hear it for yourself. Isn’t the Internet awesome?!
That simple little video features the simple little Mini Bomb Boost pedal used in a way that purely boosts volume. Simple. Have I mentioned simple?
I love the concept of pushing the envelope. That’s why I’ve written about various overdrive pedals recently. I’ll probably do it again soon. But even though the ability to push overdrive further appeals to me with the Mini Bomb Boost, the ability to also enhance clean tones appeals to me as well. Presence is important. This pedal provides that.
Presents are nice too. I wonder if anyone will gift me one of these. Did I mention my birthday is coming up?
Disclaimer: I’ve not played this guitar pedal. I have not experienced first-hand the sound or effects of this guitar pedal. That doesn’t matter. It looks awesome, it’s obviously played by winners and I want one.
