After a while these pedal articles become all-too familiar to me. The pedal has an effect. Perhaps it has two. You plug your guitar in, stomp the pedal on and set your effect using knobs and/or switches. Well not today folks. Today, we’re stepping up our game. And the best way to get your game on is to use joysticks. Luckily the Walrus Audio Janus Tremolo Fuzz has it all.
Who knew a guitar pedal could also be fun?! Well, I did. You probably did too. Sorry for doubting you.
I’ll be honest, when I first saw this pedal online, I was drawn in by those joystick controls. I wondered what they’d do and how useful they would be. One thing I didn’t consider was that a keyboard player could get great use out of a pedal like the Janus Tremolo Fuzz and its versatility. I didn’t consider that because I don’t play keyboards—I barely play guitar as it is. But one of the official videos by Walrus Audio really opened my eyes to the potential uses of this pedal.
If you’re like me, words will mean little. Video however says it all. Strange thing for me to say really as I type these words that I’m hoping you’ll read. Maybe you’ll continue to read after watching the embedded video. Fingers crossed.
Hey, if you’re still here and reading this, good for you. You’re now one of my favourite people. I hope your day is awesome.
Back to the pedal though—because it is clearly also awesome—the ability to combine the versatility of the pedal’s joystick controls with the switches that affect the bass and gain levels is amazing. I could see myself sitting there for hours experimenting with the options the fuzz side of the pedal alone provides. Combined with the tremolo effects and this pedal is days of entertainment. It most likely contributes to a writer’s creative process by allowing them to think outside of the box.
This pedal is psychedelic and it’s just what these modern times need. Bring back old school rock I say. Bring it back with epic ten minute tracks that allow the guitar to wail. Fuzz with ringing tremolo delivered through one highly customisable pedal is the perfect way to do it. Pedals like this are a must. I want one.
Disclaimer: I’ve not played this guitar pedal. I have not experienced first-hand the sound or effects of this guitar pedal. That doesn’t matter. It looks awesome, it’s obviously played by winners and I want one.
