The first real guitar I owned was an Ibanez. I still have that guitar actually. I love it. I’ve loved the Ibanez brand since the guy that taught me how to play power chords let me use his. Knowing how awesome Ibanez guitars are, I can only imagine how awesome their amps could be. This week I’m imagining the Ibanez TSA15H. In my mind, it’s awesome!
The official YouTube video just makes me want it more. It looks awesome and its clean tones are just beautiful. This video review is more detailed and gives you a Tube Screamer run-through as well. That (the Tube Screamer section) sounds awesome. What I like about this amp head is the ability the amp has to switch from 5 watt to 15 watt. As someone who plays guitar at home with a family of non-guitar lovers, that’s a bonus.
So, the official feature list looks like this:
- 2 x 12AX7 pre amp
- 2 x 6V6GT power amp
- Boost switch (this increases the gain by 6db)
- Guitar input
- Footswitch input
- Effects loop
- Speaker output
- 2-band tone control
- Tube Screamer section with Tone, Level and Overdrive
Did I mention this amp looks awesome? I believe I did. I just love the look of this amp. Its feature list is just an added bonus. The ability to switch the Tube Screamer section on/off with a switch is awesome as is the tonal control of that section. I know Ibanez guitars are awesome. Perhaps I’ll consider getting the matching amplifier head for my RX-20.
I feel like I should say awesome again. Awesome!
Disclaimer: I’ve not played through this head. I have not experienced the sound or tone of this head other than through video. That doesn’t matter. It looks awesome, it’s obviously played by winners and I want one.
