I wrote earlier this year about the four 7-string guitars I wouldn’t mind owning. I’m yet to get a 7-string guitar and of course want one. With an impending trip to the USA on the cards, I thought I’d look at the most affordable 7-string options I could find that I could then bring back with me. Amazingly, I found five top-name guitars all under $200USD.

A seven string Les Paul certainly isn’t new (Epiphone have the Matt Heafy model already), but a seven string Gibson Les Paul is new. Not only is it new, it’s black and it’s beautiful. This is most likely going to be the most impressive new guitar I see this year. This appeals to me greatly. It’s not just the seven stringed awesomeness that appeals to me though. This guitar comes pre-loaded with Seymour Duncan pickups (the awesome ’59 and JB combo). This guitar is simply screaming perfection for my likes, tastes and needs. … Gibson Les Paul 7 string
I love a good guitar. Truth be told, I love a bad guitar too. I just love guitars. This infatuation often has me looking into guitars I don’t have, yet want. Those lists—have-nots and wants—are massive. There are so many options to consider when looking at different guitars. Wood type, body shape, pickup type/configuration, fretboard material, bridge type and a whole lot more. What I’ve been looking into lately though—purely for my own entertainment—is the number of strings on an electric guitar. That is currently the one thing all of my guitars have in common. They’re all six string guitars (until a string breaks). So I’ve been looking into seven string guitars.
