I was going through my YouTube content that nobody else goes through—which makes 100% sense to me on account of the low video quality and frequency—when I realised I never compiled a playlist of the 12 riffs I created in my 2018 challenge. Better late than never?

Another 52 Guitars, week 17—B.C. Rich Mockingbird Extreme with Evertune bridge
My true love for metal guitar came along as I lived as a teenager through the 80s. I loved all genres of metal in the 80s, but some of the more memorable bands played the pointiest of pointy guitars and few were pointier than B.C. Rich. As I continue my series of guitars I’d love to purchase—all guitars having something new to add to my collection—the Mockingbird Extreme with Evertune bridge ticks a lot of boxes.
It doesn’t hurt that the guitar just looks amazing.

Another 52 Guitars, week 16—Grainger Guitars Hades
One trend I’m noticing more with the guitars I’m coming across for this year’s Another 52 guitars series is the craftmanship that is going into some of the more boutique luthiers I’m discovering. Honestly, I’m loving the way the modern guitars are looking. Don’t get me wrong, I love the traditional shapes as much as anyone else, but for the guitar industry to have a future I honestly believe it needs guitars that are unique. Guitars such as the Hades by Grainger Guitars. This thing is absolutely beautiful.
How to ‘guitar’ safely at home
The majority of us right now are either totally self-isolating or at least spending many more hours at home than we have ever done before. For some of us, this isn’t a bad thing because we have guitars. But beyond playing or practicing more at home, what else can we do with our guitar fascinations while we have more time at home than we’d normally have?
I thought I’d put together a list. I’m happy to add to it if people think of something I miss. I hope this helps make each day at home that little more productive, enjoyable or perhaps positively distracting.

At the end of last year, I wrote about the Lightning Guitar Picks by PLB World. The lightning guitar pick is a cool novelty item. The main product that PLB World is trying to get people to notice however is their Perfect Lock Bolt guitar strap locks. It’s not a novelty. It’s seriously trying to make your guitar safer while you’re playing it.
I’m lucky enough to have received one of the Perfect Lock Bolt guitar strap locks and I like them. I have a feeling I won’t be dropping my Ibanez RX-20 anytime soon. Let’s delve deeper.
… Perfect Lock Bolt guitar strap locksEight reasons to buy another guitar
Let me start by saying that there shouldn’t be a need for an article like this. There’s really only one reason to buy another guitar. That reason?
You need another guitar.
Fairly simple. Should that not work for the person you perhaps need to convince of the desired purchase, let me help you point out the very important reasons for that necessary purchase you’re planning.

It’s been less than two weeks since I posted the November edition of my monthly guitar riff challenge and yet here we are. The December edition is here well ahead of the end of the month. I may even have a chance to attempt the end goal for this project before the year ends.
Before I get to that, why not a summary of what has been achieved with this monthly guitar riff video challenge?

As far as close calls go, this month’s entry in the monthly guitar riff video challenge is as close as I’ve come. As I write this, there are two hours left until the end of November. Tomorrow morning will be December. Still, as soon as I hit Publish on this post, I’m eleven months into a successful blog series. There’s one to go! Maybe I’ll start it tomorrow.
I probably won’t. … Monthly guitar riff video challenge … the November edition
Monthly guitar riff video challenge … the October edition
This time last month, I was in Canada (eh). I was literally miles away from my regular world of websites and guitars—although if I stumbled across a guitar store, I did make time to inspect it thoroughly. By this time, I had already posted my September guitar riff challenge and I was enjoying a break from the norm—the norm not including bears and eagles I was seeing in the Rockies. Perhaps it was that break, perhaps it was the change in music I’d been listening to while on holiday, but this month’s monthly guitar riff challenge is actually a bit of a departure from the way I regularly play. And I like it! … Monthly guitar riff video challenge … the October edition
Monthly guitar riff video challenge … the September edition
September begins and I already have the riff done for my monthly guitar riff video challenge. I’m way ahead of my previous months. Whatever will I do with the rest of this month?! If I’m lucky, there will be more guitar playing and perhaps video creation. I have plans on how to step up my video game. It involves the help of others. I just haven’t told them yet. This could be fun. … Monthly guitar riff video challenge … the September edition
