Initially I was going to focus on the D series version of this week’s guitar because it’s the most affordable version of this guitar. After some deliberation and research, I decided “Hey! This is a wishlist!”. A wishlist isn’t made of up almost want items. No, it’s made up of really want items.

I’ve been realising lately that even though I have a guitar collection that is 87.5% black or white—I’ve done the math—I have a lot of red in my Instagram feed. So, if my guitar room is going to feature red, why not consider a guitar that is also red?!
That’s one of the many reasons I’m focusing on the LSL Instruments Topanga guitar this week. It doesn’t hurt that the guitar looks beautiful.

Often when I’m putting these articles together, my wife will say “They all look the same”. The Mayones Legend T22 is not one of those guitars. While it features a style that is similar to a shape that many have paid tribute to, the natural wood finish is not one I’d normally go for. On this guitar though, I’d gladly make an exception.

I feel like both form and function meet artistry perfectly in this week’s guitar. The Martyr II Custom-Fire and Blood by ARDA Guitars is not only a beautiful guitar to look at, it also ticks all the right boxes in regards to quality components and build in a guitar. Oh, that red fretboard doesn’t hurt either.

Conveniently, the Crimson Guitars Raw Series Descendant Copper Rodded Model also looks more put together than any other guitar in this series so far—and I love that.

When I wrote the original 52 Guitars article series, one of my favourite guitars was the PRS Dave Navarro signature model. Years later and I still find myself wanting a Paul Reed Smith (PRS) guitar. One day I hope to make it happen. Perhaps I’ll make it happen with the SE Hollowbody II.
It’s one beautiful looking guitar.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t own a guitar that was influenced by the designs Zakk Wylde has been applying to guitars for years now. Zakk’s Bullseye guitar and the variations that have followed since then are all really well designed. The RedRum Vortex design on the Wylde Audio Nomad is no exception. The design draws your eye into the business end of a seriously tempting guitar.
I know I want one.
