2014 … Instagram style

Back in 2011 when I decided to shift the focus of my website to my guitar fascination (prior to 2011 I used this site for my graphic design fascination), I had a small obsession with the wonders of iOS. Today I still do. I’m not currently writing about it as much, but I realised today that last year—2014—I continued to use iOS for my social media usage and monitoring, content discovery, video editing, guitar recording, photography and a whole lot more. So as I look back on the year that was, I thought I’d use iOS to put together a homage to my version of 2014.

I recently became aware of a new trend on the Interweb. Colour. Some people refer to it is color, but that’s OK. You can’t be right all the time. I’ve always prided myself on keeping up with the times and at times being somewhat of an Interweb pioneer. Keeping that fiction in mind, today I introduce the all new Scarebear website. There are many changes. You’ve hopefully noticed some already. Read on if you care and I’ll share the amazing details with you. I might also start explaining the details using actual facts and less fiction.

I’ve made a few friends on social networks like Twitter and a few of those friends have commented on my custom Scarebear plectrums from Grover Allman. Is a few of a few one or two? Either way, I’ve mailed several plectrums to people from all over the place. Several must be more than a few because I know I’ve sent more than three plectrums. To prove my point, I made myself a plectrum themed map of the Earth with placeholders for the locations I’ve mailed plectrums to.

My custom Grover Allman guitar plectrums

Today is a good day. Not just because it’s Good Friday either. It’s also the day I get to write about the awesome Grover Allman custom plectrums I ordered recently. They arrived in the mail yesterday and came with a handy sticker of the Grover Allman logo—you’ve got to love that logo with its clever reversed plectrums (look at the whitespace between the cross patterns)—and a black Grover Allman wrist band. Personally I’m a big fan of black rubber wrist bands. They don’t damage your guitar while you’re playing hard.

I’ve wanted to get some custom guitar plectrums for quite some time now. I’m not in a band and I’m not famous, but I’ve wanted some all the same. Why? Because thanks to Grover Allman I can! Out with the old and in with the new

I’ve enjoyed the Blogger experience for the last year or so, but the time has come to get this website in some kind of order. For well over a year I’ve mixed up my guitar, photography and root beer/sarsaparilla interests on this one website. Why? Well, because Blogger made it so easy to do. But it was getting messy.
